To Trinidad!

3 hours for check-in, security check and passport control in Margarita airport, 30 minutes in the air – and here I am on Trinidad island. Enough Venezuela for me, it was a long month there. Although at the end Margarita showed all her beauty, thanks to Pablo.

So, Trinidad and Tobago, why not? Sounds exotic enough 🙂 “Welcome to Jamaica” my mobile carrier writes to me. Maybe the phone heard reggae playing around. Civilization around, expensive cars, all that stuff. My host Toby is a very nice guy, pity that he left the island, so I live alone. Even though there are a lot of foreigners, I seem to be the only one blond on the streets, according to people’s reaction. But nothing rude – mostly just “hello”. Everybody speaks “broken English”, sometimes I don’t understand it at all, but if they speak slowly, it’s getting better.

In two days on Trini (that’s the local “name” for Trinidad) I managed to hand out barhopping with Toby, walk around 7 km along the highway, learn how to use a bus, get lost in the neighborhood in the night, find the way home, find a boat to go to Grenada. Have one more week for exploring the island 🙂

So here we have last sunset on Margarita island and our silly faces from the first night on Trini. I write a big post about Venezuela with a lot of letters and pictures, can’t finish
